Beer Battered Onion Rings
Looking for a great tasting snack you can whip up in minutes? Homemade crowd
pleasing appetizer.
Ingredients required:
1 cup all purpose flour,
plus extra for dusting
1 cup of your favorite beer
2 Vidalia onions,
peeled and cut crosswise 1/3-inch thick and separated
Vegetable oil for deep
frying

Place the flour into a bowl and make a well in the
center. Pour the beer into the well and whisk until the mixture is
combined.
Strain the batter through a sieve into another bowl and let it
rest, covered, for about 1 hour. Dust the onion rings with some additional
flour, shaking off the excess, and then dip them each in the batter. Working in
batches, fry the onion rings in 2 inches of hot oil (370 degrees) until they are
golden. Season with salt if desired.
