Apple Crisp is a classic fall dessert. It can be a delicious dessert served cold
or extra delicious when served warm. Add a dolup of whipped cream on top in
order to enhance this yummy dessert.
Ingredients:
10 cups baking
apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup brown
sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1 cup oatmeal, regular (old
fashioned)
1/3 cup butter
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon
ground nutmeg
1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
whipped cream,
(optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Peel and slice apples into a 9 x 13
baking dish. Mix together flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, oatmeal, and
spices. Cut in butter until it becomes crumbly. Sprinkle topping over sliced
apple. Add chopped nuts and whipped cream if desired. Bake in preheated oven 1
hour. Serve warm or at room temperature.
