Delicious Meatball Hoagies
Recipe for a delicious tender meatball hoagie sandwich. Folks never get tired of
eating them.
Ingredients required:
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1
medium green pepper, seeded and cut into thin strips
1 tablespoon olive
oil
16 ounces frozen cooked Italian meatballs
2 cups refrigerated marinara
sauce
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
6 hoagie buns or ciabatta rolls,
split
6 slices provolone cheese (6 ounces)

In a large
saucepan, fry onion and green pepper in hot oil over medium heat for 4 to 5
minutes or until tender. Add meatballs, marinara sauce, and crushed red pepper.
Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, about 15 minutes or until
meatballs are heated through.
To serve, place provolone cheese on bottom
portions of rolls. Spoon the meatball mixture onto each roll. Broil sandwiches 4
to 5 inches from heat for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese melts. Makes 6 hoagies.
